Short pieces of service music such as the Doxology are a gift to the church. They are wonderful additions to both the liturgy of life and corporate worship. While it is more intricate than the Doxology, I was immediately impressed with Greg Wilbur’s “Franklin Sanctus,” which, in my opinion, should become a standard. In any case, his work I inspired me to try my hand at a version of the ancient text of the Sanctus.
The recording below is from my album, To Live is Christ. It was great fun to record this with Henry Haffner and several children (including a couple of my own!) from Parish Presbyterian Church. Listen, grab the PDF, and please feel free to use it in worship.
